1. Introduction
ÆON ("ÆON," "we," "us," or "our") operates the ÆON mobile application and the website at joinaeon.app (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process personal information in connection with the Services.
By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
2. Relationship with businesses on the platform
The Services allow consumers to discover and request services from independent businesses that use ÆON. Those businesses are separate from ÆON and are responsible for their own service delivery, cancellation, no-show, refund, and other customer-facing policies. When you book a service, you interact with an independent business; that business may process your information as described in its own notices or policies. This Privacy Policy describes how ÆON processes information as the platform provider.
3. Information we collect
We collect information depending on how you use the Services. Categories may include:
- Account and profile information. Name, email address, phone number (if you provide it), and similar identifiers you choose to share when you create or access an account.
- Booking and service information. Service selections, requested time windows, scheduling details, notes you provide, and related information needed to process requests and communications between you and businesses.
- Location and address information. When a service requires location or a service address, you may provide address text or coordinates. On the website, address lookups may use third-party geocoding (OpenStreetMap Nominatim) to help format and validate addresses.
- Payment-related information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive your full payment card number; Stripe collects and processes card data according to its privacy policy. We may receive limited payment-related data (such as transaction status, amount, and identifiers) to operate bookings and receipts.
- Communications and notifications. Transactional emails (for example, booking-related messages), and push notifications if you enable them in the app.
- Technical and usage information. Device identifiers, push tokens, IP address, logs, app and website diagnostics, and similar data needed to operate, secure, and improve the Services.
- Other information you choose to provide. For example, messages you send to us through contact forms or support channels.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Services;
- Create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and process bookings and requests;
- Facilitate payments and service-related communications between you and businesses;
- Send transactional and service-related messages (including email and push notifications where enabled);
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies;
- Analyze usage in aggregate, improve the Services, and develop new features.
5. Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions)
Where applicable, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases: performance of a contract with you; our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Services (balanced against your rights); your consent where required; and compliance with legal obligations.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers who assist us in hosting, authentication, database, email delivery, push notifications, payment processing, analytics, and infrastructure (for example, Supabase, Stripe, Expo push services, Resend, and Vercel). These providers process information only on our instructions or as permitted by law.
- Businesses you book with, as needed to fulfill your requests and communicate about services.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of the Services, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
7. International transfers
We operate in the United States and may process information in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
8. Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary.
9. Security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
11. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
California residents: If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (as defined by law). We do not sell your personal information. To exercise rights, contact us using the information below.
To exercise rights, email us at contact@joinaeon.app. We may need to verify your request before responding.
12. Cookies and similar technologies
The website may use cookies and similar technologies necessary for the site to function. If we add optional analytics or marketing cookies, we will update this policy and, where required, obtain consent.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice as appropriate. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
14. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact us at contact@joinaeon.app.
This policy is provided for transparency. It does not create contractual rights beyond what is required by law. Independent businesses using ÆON may provide separate terms for their services (including cancellation, no-show, and refund policies) where applicable.
